Need professional concrete cutting services but worried about having your children and pets around?
In this article we’ll discuss whether concrete cutting is safe around children and pets, precautions you can take and how Alpha Concrete Cutting can help.
Now when we talk about whether concrete cutting is safe for children and pets, we’re obviously not talking about whether it’s safe for them to do the work but rather if it’s safe for them to be around when work is completed.
While most professional concrete cutters do recommend you relocate your children and pets during your required services, there are provisions we have in place for if this is not possible.
Aside from removing your children from the area completely, there are a number of things you can do to protect them whilst the service is taking place. Here we’ll discuss them in more detail:
As we said in part one of our article on noise and dust pollution, the best way to minimise it is to talk to your professional. The same goes for children and pets. Together, we will be able to devise some safety provisions and instil measures to protect you and your family.
Sometimes it’s nice to do the neighbourly thing and advise them when you are going to have concrete cutting services completed on your property. This is especially important if you don’t have kids or pets (but they do), as it allows your neighbours a chance to prepare before we arrive.
It’s also a good idea to, if possible, arrange a time that is suitable for everyone. For instance, if your neighbours and their offspring go to work and childcare between 9am and 11am, it might be the most appropriate time to schedule your service.
When keeping your children or pets at home while concrete cutting is undertaken, you’ll want to set up clear boundaries. This means:
– identifying a designated area for work to be completed
– setting up safe play areas for your child or pet
As much as we want to protect your children and pets, it’s not our job to do so. As such, we strongly advise that if they are at home during your service, you never let them out of your sight.
Accidents can happen (as much as we try to avoid them) and we don’t want this to happen to you.
While you can’t put PPE on a cat or dog, you can take precautions for your children. We suggest:
– using noise cancelling headphones or earplugs
– wearing a mask and other protective gear
